2.0-liter engine is an inline four-cylinder unit fitted with a single twin-scroll turbocharger producing a total of 258 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent through an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, enabling the new entry-level Supra to accelerate to 62 mph from a standstill in just 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph
Supra is 220 pounds lighter, while positioning the engine closer to the center of the car has resulted in a 50:50 front-rear weight balance and more responsive handling.
"To achieve agile steering and stable cornering, we worked very hard to reduce the new car's weight, while aiming for a 50:50 weight balance," said GR Supra Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada. "This presented us with huge challenges, but we did not want to compromise on our targets."
Standard features for the new entry-level include 18-inch alloy wheels, a four-speaker audio system with 8.8-inch display and sports seats with black Alcantara upholstery. In terms of safety tech, the 2.0-liter Supra is equipped with a pre-crash safety with braking function, pedestrian and cyclist detection with braking function, lane keep assist with active steering, road sign assist and an intelligent speed assist.
